July 30, 2010
San Patrignano, IT --- Italy wins again in the second class of the day, Sea Aeroporti di Milano, consecutive phase category, on an entirely Italian podium, with Juan Carlos Garcia, in first place on Moka de Mescam (0/0 29,55), fresh off a great ride at La Coruña. Second and third place went to Emanuele Gaudiano on Chicago 84 (0/0 29,91) and Gianni Govoni on Little Tinka (31,36). The visiting riders had to make do with a fourth place finish for France's François Mathy jr, a full two seconds slower than Garcia. The forty five starting riders were bested by Moka de Mescam's speed and precision: the bay Selle Francais gelding has been the Italian-Colombian rider's partner for a while now. "I came to win", explained Juan Carlos Garcia, "from the beginning, and I succeeded right away. I am very happy with my horse's performance but I am not surprised". First place surrounded by his countrymen, dose Garcia see this as a good sign? "I think so, I have always said that Italy has some fine riders. They only need someone to believe in them".
