Calgary Stampede offers Get Away to the Real Experience of Agriculture

Calgary, AB --- Calgarians and visitors to this year’s Stampede have an opportunity to experience real Alberta agriculture operations through Stampede Farm Tours.

The Stampede is offering three unique tours, including:

-Roam your Backyard (July 4, 7, 10): Experience a horse training facility, lunch at a berry farm, and spend time at a working cattle ranch.

-Big Business (July 5, 8, 11): See how a Hutterite colony thrives, visit a feedlot, and witness how grain is converted at a brewery.

-Roots of your Food (July6, 9, 12): Enjoy time connecting with animals and the open range while at a working ranch and farm, check out antique and modern machinery, and spend time at a dairy farm.

Led by agriculture expert guides, tours will depart from Stampede Park at 9 a.m. and will return by 6 p.m.

Prices include all meals, transportation and Calgary Stampede park admission.

“The Farm Tour program is an innovative way for Alberta’s rural communities to connect with the urban public and international visitors as well as showcase the diversity of Alberta’s agriculture industry,” says Allison Wright, Agriculture manager. “Guests will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of today’s production techniques, technology, and the value of agriculture in Alberta.
