Final Day of Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II Ends On a High Note for Tiffany Hammack in Hunters

Wayne, IL --- Today was the final day at Lamplight Equestrian Center for the Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II. The weather was beautiful as the remaining hunter divisions put in their final trips.

In hunter ring number four, the $2,500 NAL Adult Hunter Classic sponsored by Runaway Farm and the Carroll family went today. One of the last to go, the winner was Tiffany Hammack from Hawthorne Woods, IL on mount Saracen. At only 20 years old, she is one of the youngest adults in the division.

“I’ve been riding for a long time. I started in Short Stirrup and moved up to the jumpers from there,” said Hammack.

While she was very modest and not quick to brag about herself, it was mentioned that Hammack was the youngest winner of the Washington Children’s Jumper Finals when she was only 10 years old.

The NAL Adult Hunter Classic was a large class with many top adults competing. The top score kept getting higher and higher, encouraging riders to bring their “A” game.

The horse Hammack won on today was an eight-year-old gelding owned by Lisa Williamson of Gurnee, IL. The horse came a long way to be here, traveling half way across the world.

“We all flew to Prague to get him. He was born and raised in the Czech Republic,” said Williamson said of her horse’s far-flung provenance.

Today was the final day of the Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II. Both riders and spectators could not say enough good things about the show and showgrounds.
